Inside the UNCCD
This webinar introduced participants to the key stakeholders, structures and decision-making processes within the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), with a particular focus on how civil society organisations can engage more effectively in policy and advocacy spaces. The session explored the roles, interests and communication needs of different actors within the UNCCD environment, including the Secretariat, government representatives, scientific bodies and civil society groups. Through expert presentations and practical examples, participants gained insights into how to identify and engage influential stakeholders, build effective communication strategies and strengthen advocacy efforts within UNCCD processes. The webinar provided practical guidance on navigating the UNCCD landscape and highlighted opportunities for civil society organisations to increase their impact in land restoration and land governance discussions at both national and international levels.
