Esta publicación es una compilación de resúmenes de tesis y estudios elaborados en el marco del proyecto “Integración Regional para el Manejo Ambiental Sostenible y el Control de la Desertificación en Ecuador y Perú”, que constituyen un aporte para el manejo sostenible del ecosistema denominado bosque tropical seco. Se presentan once trabajos, de los cuales ocho son tesis ejecutadas por jóvenes egresados de cuatro universidades peruanas y los otros tres, son estudios realizados por estudiantes universitarios y especialistas en bosque seco.

The experimental implementation of the fungus Trichoderma spp in a degraded soil, located in an area contaminated by waste from cooper and gold mining is described in this report. The study was designed to test the potential persistence of this plant-beneficial fungus in soils contaminated by mining waste. The persistence of the Trichoderma spp in those extreme conditions was demonstrated by the study, as shown by the laboratory soil analysis.
