Land Degradation Neutrality

This webinar provided an introduction to Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN), exploring its origins, objectives and importance within the framework of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and the Sustainable Development Goals. Participants gained an understanding of the LDN conceptual framework, including its guiding principles, enabling conditions and indicators used to monitor progress. The session also examined practical experiences of LDN implementation at national and project levels, highlighting stakeholder engagement processes, the role of civil society organisations and lessons learned from implementation in Türkiye and Peru. Through expert presentations and discussion, participants strengthened their understanding of how LDN can be applied to support sustainable land management, ecosystem restoration and inclusive decision-making at both national and local levels.
