The UNCCD Secretariat has announced the selection of Ana di Pangracio (FARN, Argentina) as the alternate CSO observer at the UNCCD Science – Policy Interface (SPI) until COP17.

Drynet extends its warmest congratulations. “This selection is a well-earned recognition of Ana’s dedication and commitment to environmental conservation. We have no doubt that she will contribute significantly to the UNCCD through this role”, says Drynet Co-Chair Marioldy Sanchez Santivañez.

As alternate CSO observer, Ana will support the current SPI observer Manon Albagnac (CARI, France) and will automatically assume the role of CSO SPI observer for the next biennium after COP17 in 2026.

Experienced in translating science into policy, supporting multi-level governance, and leading stakeholder-inclusive strategies rooted in human rights, gender equity, and ecosystem-based approaches. Her contributions span multiple multilateral negotiations under the UNCCD, CBD, and other global fora, with special expertise in participatory land-use planning, wetland and forest protection, biocultural heritage, and science-policy-community knowledge interface work.
