SCOPE is a NGO formed in 1988 to protect environment, it is dedicated to environment and combating desertification and drought in dryland areas.

SCOPE is in consultative status with United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and accredited with UNCED, UNEP and UN CCD. It is implementing a dryland development programme in Sindh Province of southern Pakistan, which includes livelihood support of pastoral communities, water resources development, biodiversity protection, drinking water purification, agro-forestry and capacity development of NGOs and local communities. SCOPE has established an Anti-Drought and Desertification Centre at Mithi, Tharparkar District, where it is implementing a number of dryland development projects. SCOPE closely works with Ministry of Environment and other bodies in the implementation of UNCCD.
