Indigo development & change

South Africa

Indigo development & change is a rurally-based NGO with national and global linkages. Based in the rural small town of Nieuwoudtville in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa, we strive to effectively link local realities and processes to global dialogue and policy. For the past 2 decades Indigo has linked with local small-scale farmers to support their efforts to farm sustainably despite the impacts of climate change. Our climate change adaptation work has included farmer training in sustainable land use and offering training to practitioners in participatory adaptation. Indigo is currently the host organisation for the Southern African Adaptation Network, which it co-founded in 2009. In December 2022 Indigo took up the role of host organisation for Drynet.
