EMG

The Environmental Monitoring Group (EMG), established in 1991, is a non-profit NGO based in Cape Town with a professional staff of 8 people and funded by a range of international donors. Our mission is to awaken the potential in ourselves and others to engage powerfully, mindfully and creatively in our relationship with the natural environment and resources that sustain life.

Our focus is thus on strengthening the participation of civil society groups in decision-making processes that relate to the use and management of natural resources. We work to:

• disseminate information and analysis
• facilitate spaces for learning, dialogue and action; and
• demonstrate examples of best practice

EMG’s work focuses on programmes in global trade and environmental governance, rural resource management, and water.
