NGOs, Scientifics, local communities, international institutions, private and the public sector will soon be
gathering at Ouagadougou to debate and share their respective positions on land

This 4 days summit at the very heart of western Africa and the Sahel region will gather 300
international actors in the perspective of developing a lasting dialogue between natural resources
sustainable management actors and reaffirming their determination to place lands and soils at the
centre of local actions and international agendas. This summit aims to bring grass roots civil society
voices to the top of decision making processes.
Other key objectives are:
- To elaborate and organize international advocacy from the civil society around the themes of “Land, Biodiversity & Climate” in order to prepare for the upcoming important meetings (UNCCD COP14 in September 2019 and theWorld Conservation Congress in 2020).
- To allow the exchange of experiences inspired by local initiatives in land sustainable management, their restoration and territories development.
